Know the History of Your Cat’s Health

When you first bring home your cat, whether as a kitten or an adult cat, it's important to ask about it's health and for any health records.

Most cats receive vaccinations early in life, however it’s important that you know what vaccinations have been received, and when future vaccinations are required.

In the circumstances of no records being available, your vet will offer a full health check and provide the appropriate vaccines to protect your cat against potential health threats.

Health Advice for Your Cat

ORAL HEALTH

Like humans, maintaining good oral hygiene for cats is an important factor of general good health. Poor oral health can predispose animals to more serious ailments if left untreated, so it is imperative to have your cat checked yearly for signs that include bad breath (halitosis), red and inflamed gums (gingivitis) and discoloration of teeth that may indicate built up of tartar and calcium.

ANNUAL HEALTH CHECKS

An annual vet health check can help your cat to live longer and happier and may also prevent the onset of illnesses if picked up early. There are specific health checks that your vet will carry out depending on the lifestage of your cat.

It’s always a good idea to set reminders in your diary.
