OPTIMUM® Dog News #3
Inside this issue:
OPTIMUM helps your puppy develop in leaps and bounds!
Why should I feed a diet rich in DHA?
DHA is a major building block of the brain and is critical to the growth of the central nervous system. DHA is an Omega 3 fatty acid found naturally in mother's milk. Once your puppy is weaned from its mother it's vital that it still continues to receive the appropiate levels of DHA.
If DHA is in mother's milk, how is DHA added to OPTIMUM Dry Puppy Formula?
DHA is found in fish oil. Scientists have discovered that a diet supplemented with fish oil will also have a positive effect on the cognitive development of puppies. So OPTIMUM Dry Puppy Formula contains added fish oils to ensure your Puppy receives the DHA required for optimal growth.
Give your puppy an OPTIMUM start to life!
OPTIMUM is enriched with the right balance of nutrients and added DHA to ensure your puppy receives all of the essential nutrition it needs for brain, vision and central nervous system development.

Enjoying the Festive Season with your dog
Christmas is a time to celebrate and enjoy giving to others, however as a pet owner it's important to be disciplined enough not to be giving when it comes to feeding your dog Christmas treats or leftovers.
What's wrong with a little treat at Christmas?
Most importantly - dogs have different nutritional needs from us, therefore what may seem like a ok food item for us to eat, may not be so ok for your dog. Many human meals contain ingredients which are unsuitable, and in some cases harmful for your dog to digest, such as garlic, onions and chocolate. So why not treat your dog to a run in the park instead.
Avoid those extra holiday season kilos!
With all of the eating and celebrating over the next couple of months, you may start to feel your waistband grow tighter - but what about your dog? Have you considered that they too can put on weight?
It is easy to tell whether your dog has put on a few kgs by keeping record of its weight. If your dog is prone to putting on weight then why not try OPTIMUM Healthy Weight Management which is formulated with lower calories without sacrificing taste or nutrition.

A message from the heart
Research has shown that around 11% of adult dogs will suffer from cardiac disease in their lifetime.*
The good news is that you can take preventative action by feeding your dog a nutritionally balanced diet with specific active ingredients that promote a healthy heart.
The OPTIMUM range of dry food for dogs contains the ideal levels of L-Arginine, Taurine and Vitamin E to help promote healthy circulation and a healthy heart^. Look for the OPTIMAL HEART HEALTH icon on pack.
